Throughout its long life, the Museum of Natural Sciences of Buenos Aires was successively housed in the upper cells of the Convent of Santo Domingo, in the Manzana de las Luces and in several buildings of the small square of Monserrat, until it was finally installed in 1937, in the building it occupies today.
My intention with this video was to make a portrait of the museum, its architecture, its spaces, its details of light and shadow, and the timeless feeling that characterises it so much.
Visitors spend hours looking through the glass at the solitary fish in the tank and dissected animals, time seems to fade and stand still, turning many of its visitors into ambulatory sleepers.
